Summary

The Workshop Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the workshop environment. This role involves performing various cleaning tasks to ensure a safe and hygienic working space for employees and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting, to maintain a clean workshop area.
  • Empty trash bins and dispose of waste materials in a proper and environmentally friendly manner.
  • Clean and sanitize restroom facilities regularly to ensure hygiene standards are met.
  • Wipe down and clean surfaces, equipment, and machinery to remove dirt, grease, and debris.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when supplies need replenishment.
  • Report any maintenance or repair needs observed during cleaning duties.
  • Follow safety protocols and use protective equipment when handling cleaning chemicals and materials.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all.
  • Cooperate with other workshop staff and supervisors to coordinate cleaning schedules and tasks.
  • Perform other duties related to workshop cleanliness as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Must be a Grade 10 or 12 high school graduate
  • Must possess sober habits
  • Prior experience in a cleaning or janitorial role is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and materials.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
  • Good physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may require lifting and bending.
  • Reliability and punctuality in attendance.
  • Effective communication skills to report maintenance issues and coordinate with colleagues.
