World Vision Papua New Guinea (WVPNG) has exciting opportunity for those of you who want a change and want to become part of a dynamic team. We are currently looking for suitable, qualified, experienced, and highly motivated professional to fill the WASH Officer - Hardware role to be based in Daru, Western Province

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The purpose of this role is to provide support in the implementation of WASH activities in the WPP Project sites in the South Fly District of Western Province. It requires the incumbent to mobilize the project site communities, organize logistics, liaise with relevant government divisions and partners in the implementation of the WASH activities in the South fly District.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead in the planning and implementation of WASH activities on monthly basis.
  • Mobilize and organize the target communities for Water and Sanitation promotion activities
  • Liaise with local authorities and other relevant stake holders to ensure involvement and participation in project activities
  • Conduct workshop, trainings and related capacity building activities to project stakeholders and the target communities
  • Report writing and Evidence based documentation of project Impact
  • Supervision of Artisans, causals on the installation of hand pumps, rehabilitation of Rain water harvesting units and hand dug wells
  • Taking care of organizational property and assets entrusted to the team

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • A certificate or diploma in Water Supply and Sanitation or Health Related Field
  • 3 years in Development Work, minimum of 1 year in community mobilizing role
  • Experience in community organizing and emergency response is an advantage
  • Experience in health and hygiene programs or water supply and sanitation
  • Planning and coordinating skills
  • Must poses training and facilitation skills
