Vector Control and Snake Handler

Key responsibilities include:

• Conduct site inspections to assess vector-borne risks, including mosquitoes and other public health pests.
• Implement integrated pest management strategies, including chemical and non-chemical control measures.
• Apply pesticides and larvicides safely according to industry and environmental regulations.
• Monitor pest populations, breeding sites, and environmental conditions affecting vector control.
• Maintain records of inspections, treatments, and follow-up actions.
• Educate clients on pest prevention strategies to reduce infestation risks.
• Respond to snake sightings and safely capture, remove, and relocate venomous and non-venomous snakes.
• Identify snake species and assess potential risks before handling.
• Conduct proactive inspections in high-risk areas to prevent snake encounters.
• Provide recommendations to property owners on snake-proofing measures.
• Maintain and clean snake-handling equipment, including hooks, tongs, and transport containers.
• Educate the public and clients on snake awareness, prevention, and first aid response for snake bites.
• Adhere to health and environmental safety standards.

Job requirements:

• Experience in pest/vector control and snake handling.
• Certification in pest management and snake handling (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication skills for educating clients and the public.
• Valid driver’s license.
