About the role

• To maintain and repair fixed plant equipment onsite in a safe, responsible and timely and effective manner ensuring all Fixed Plant and K92 mining standards are met.
• The Plant Fitter performs skilled mechanical work the installation, operation, repairs, and maintenance of the Fixed Plant equipment and infrastructures.
• The Plant Fitter is responsible to maintain all plant equipment and ensure all planning and scheduling maintenance activities are performed safely and more effectively.

The Plant Fitter also assist the Maintenance Foreman in performing preventative maintenance programs, perform routine maintenance and enforces statutory requirements and assist to create a zero-base safety culture.

Key / Major Accountabilities

• Maintain safe work standards and practices in accordance with mine safety regulations for all tasks performed.
• Maintain safety work standards in accordance with government regulations and company policy.
• The successful completion of daily work to meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Reporting faults and Hazards and respond to routine emergency calls for repair and service within the mine site area.
• Carrying our all work safely and to the relevant standards.
• Organizational skills including ability to prioritize and manage time.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills and perform roles and responsibilities that support and reflect the company’s mission and core valves.
• Monitoring and assessment of plant and equipment.
• Exercise due care and attention to work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Completion of daily time sheet with the correct job numbers and time.
• Assist in supervising and on-job training for Apprentices and Trade Assistance.
• Willingness to assist other trades as and when required.
• Work long odd hours and often be on call in emergency situations and extreme conditions

About You

To be considered for the role you must:

• Have certificates from a recognized Tertiary institution or technical training program in a maintenance trade or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program, or combination of the two.
• Have at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience is required. Trade Certificate Fitting & Machinery / Mechanical Fitting. Sound knowledge of all Gold Processing Plant Equipment or similar set up.
• Possess the ability to trouble shoots and perform root cause analysis (particularly in diagnosis and fault finding). Must be a self-starter, and very resourceful, with the ability to find solutions to problems to ensure the equipment availability is maintained and the ability to live in a remote environment with limited facilities. Flexible, adaptable and be a team player. Good working knowledge of the principles and practices of OH&S and Fixed Plant. Be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the business and ability to work harmoniously as part of the team.
