The Role The client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Accountant to join their team and support the tax function across various entities. In this role, you will be responsible for managing tax compliance activities, including the timely filing of monthly tax returns, preparing tax account reconciliations, and supporting a range of tax matters in collaboration with the Group Tax & Regulatory Manager. Key Responsibilities
Ensure tax compliance for the Organisation and its related subsidiaries by preparing and filing monthly and annual tax returns, tax clearance certificates, and other necessary compliance documents.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, assist the reporting manager in reviewing tax accounts, and address any tax related matters.
Serve as the main point of contact with the Internal Revenue Commission, addressing queries from both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Work closely with internal colleagues, providing ad-hoc tax advice to support and enhance tax compliance across the organisation.
Assist with the quarterly calculation of deferred tax for related subsidiaries.
Support the monthly calculation of tax depreciation for the tax fixed asset register.
Actively engage with learning modules offered through People & Culture, working towards relevant certifications or lesson hours as defined by the business.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in accountancy or related fields
Be a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with accounting and reporting systems, particularly TechOne or similar accounting software.
5+ years of experience in taxation and accounting
Strong ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team
In-depth knowledge of local tax regulations
Familiarity with international accounting standards
