About the role

The Accounting Supervisor will oversee Payroll, Accounting, and Accounts Payable departments and is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of all financial functions within these areas. This role requires managing a team across multiple accounting disciplines, ensuring compliance with all financial and regulatory standards, and driving accuracy in financial reporting.

This position will also collaborate with other departments to maintain streamlined financial processes and support month-end and year-end close processes. Moreover, this role involves performing high standards of accountability and transparency in all business dealings with the various vendors (both local and overseas) while upholding the K92 Mining Limited’s Code of Conduct and Ethics.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

  • Supervise and lead the Payroll, Accounting, and Accounts Payable teams, providing direction, mentorship, and training to ensure efficient and accurate operations.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with tax laws, labor regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accurate processing of invoices, timely payments, and resolution of vendor inquiries.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Review and approve account reconciliations and general ledger entries.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements, including tax filings and reporting for payroll and accounts payable.
  • Collaborate with HR, IT, and other departments to ensure smooth integration between payroll, accounting, and accounts payable functions.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budgeting.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by providing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of payroll, accounting, and accounts payable operations. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you hold a Degree or Diploma in accounting and are CPA Qualified with at least 5 years’ experience in a mining environment. In addition, you must possess some or all of the following

  • Experience in Pronto Accounting system is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, payroll systems, accounts payable processes, and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with payroll tax filings.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in managing payroll, accounts payable, and general accounting functions is preferred
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and other K92 Mining Ltd employees
