We currently have an immediate vacancy for a Shipping Officer to join our already strong and
vibrant Logistics Department in Lae. Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, this takes charge of
Container bookings for outbound with our local Shipping companies for coastal ports not limited
to other tasks involving exports

Your responsibilities will include:

• Constantly providing an update daily for all Import and export shipments
• Develop and maintain container monitoring tools, systems and maintain daily
• Engage with clearing agent, Naqia and PNG Customs to expedite the clearance process.
• Attending to all shipping documentations needed and required.
• Attend to account issues for all import shipments
• Develop container specifications for dry and frozen goods
• Communicate and escalate any issues related to shipment delays and any clearance
status quickly
• Running landed costings in SAP
• Monitor container movements from source to destination
• Minimise Wharf Storage charges
• Expedite customs and quarantine documentations
• Liaise with customs broker for timely movement of container from wharf to destination
• Minimise complaints on payments for all third parties

To be considered for the role, you will need to have:

• Diploma or Degree in Management or a Business-related field
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role handling documentation in a logistics
environment especially Ocean Freight, Cartage etc…
• Knowledge and experience in expediting/ Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong computer skills in Excel and Word
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders
