We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Fitter to join our already strong and effective Maintenance Team in POM. Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer, the fitter is assigned to keep production and manufacturing equipment running efficiently to meet the required production plans at the Flour Mill plant. Responsible for shift coverage, handling the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, which also involve troubleshooting Mechanical/Pneumatics/Hydraulics problems, and repair and maintain existing production equipment’s.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Making Safety Work and Hygiene practises as a daily HABBIT at Workplace
    1. Always maintain Self-Hygiene, workplace Housekeeping at respective workstations
    2. Following through and executes the Permit To Work procedure system & advising others to work Safely
    3. Taking part in Safety talk/walks (Lead observations) and report any safety findings (Hazzard)
    4. Ensure 100% compliance on any LOTO Procedure
  2. Drive “Teamwork” practice in our working environment.
    1. Communication is very important – Provide clear, accurate & timely information/feedback to all those concerned
    2. Attend Daily & weekly Team meetings (Toolbox, engineering work orders and others).
    3. Attend scheduled trainings and organised team activities such as Stock take
    4. Be Familiarised & be competent in allocated equipment/production process
    5. Assist wherever applicable – have the flexibility to help others in needs & teach others
  3. Execution of the Planned Maintenance Work Order Cycle Process (Preventative & Corrective Maintenance) – On time in Full
    1. Execute Planned Preventative Mechanical tasks and provide feedback in timely manner
      1. Follow up on Daily/Weekly/Monthly PM Plans
      2. Execute PM Plans as per procedure and provide any finding (Spare parts details/MRF)
    2. Executing corrective planned Mechanical Work orders on time
  4. Required to monitor/Cover production lines as per overall production plans
    1. Shift coverage – Being available when called upon to cover productions lines or any other urgent work request
    2. Machine down time – Focus on Capturing and reducing mechanical down times as fast as possible but in a safe manner
    3. Execute Breakdown escalation process in timely manner
    4. Responsible for running the daily routine checks, which includes Pre-Start checklist and PM Checklists
    5. Responsible for collecting and providing breakdown reports to team
    6. Take part in breakdown analysis

To be considered for the role, you will need to have:

Technical/Functional Competencies Qualifications, (eg. Tertiary, trade):

  • Minimum Grade 12 High School Certificate
  • Maintenance Trade Certificate,

Business/Technical Skills, (eg. computing, negotiating, leadership, project management): --

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal Possess satisfactory language, mathematical and reasoning skills

Experience (Technical and Behavioral):

  • Previous experience in a maintenance Fitting --
  • Ability to self-manage and use initiative --
  • Punctual and reliable. --
  • Team Player --
  • Previous experience with continuous high-speed processing and packaging equipment in an industrial food production environment. --
  • Ability to do problem solving

Desirable:

  • At least three years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated success in a similar level position within the FMCG industries
