Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions within the University:

SECURITY & FIRE SERVICES DEPARTMENT

Security Supervisors x 6 - Bulolo University College (BUC x 1), Timber & Forestry Training College (TFTC x 1), Taraka Campus x 4

This position is responsible for supervision and coordination of security shift operations on the respective campuses.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for the guards
• Monitor, train and assess performance of the guards
• Lead investigations and provide reports to the Security Manager on all security issues on campus
• Conduct parade and inspection of all guards, roll checks and brief of work on a daily basis
• Conduct timely scheduled location spot checks
• Maintain upkeep and keep records of work equipment (radios, vehicles, torches, etc.)
• Ensure vehicles are washed and cleaned before handover to incoming shifts
• Ensure all incidents are reported in the Occurrence Book (OB)
• For TFTC and BUC, daily and weekly reports are to be sent to the Security Manager
• Report misconduct by guards
• Attend to meetings with Security Manager and provide feedbacks
• Conduct disciplinary proceedings and coaching of guards
• Ensure work locations are kept clean
• Ensure adherence of work ethics by guards
• Ensure the SOP for security operations are strictly followed
• Attend to other duties delegated by the Principal or Security Manager.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate should have a grade 12 qualification with 3-5 years previous experience in a similar role. A certificate in Health, Safety and Security Management will be an added advantage and must possess a current driver’s license. This position requires a person who is mature with sober habits and good public relations skills and is prepared to work odd hours including weekends and public holidays.

Conditions of Service

Base Salary Range: Security Supervisor PGK19,966 – PGK24,403 per annum
