Regional Airports Managers- Northern & Southern Regions

We are recruiting for two Regional Airports Manager – Ground Operations. One Manager will look after the Northern Region, which comprises of the MOMASE and the New Guinea Islands regions. They can be based out of Lae or Kokopo. The other Regional Manager will look after the Southern Region which comprises of the Papuan/Southern region and the Highlands regions respectively. They can be based out of either Port Moresby or Mt. Hagen.

Both Regional Airports Managers will report directly to the General Manager – Operations. They will be responsible for the efficient management of PNG Air airline operations across all its regional operating airports.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring all procedures outlined in the Company‘s Exposition are adhered to at these airports;
• Working with the applicable airport Managers to ensure all staff have received training to enable them to carry out their respective duties in a safe, compliant and responsible manner;
• Working with the Commercial team, to develop, and deliver customer service training, at agreed standards, and then ensuring the staff consistently deliver these standards;
• Working with key stakeholders both within, and external to the Airline, especially including the airport operator for each of these airports;
• Working with all stakeholders to develop the customer experience, including as appropriate the roll-out of new technologies;
• Providing sufficient presence at these airports so as to be situationally aware of the performance of each of these airports;
• Strategic overview of the development of staff rosters, including they ensure the efficient allocation of staff
• Both disciplinary and staff promotional activities, as are normal at this Managerial level.
• To be the face ‘of PNG Air in all our Ports and to attend to customer issues and provide customer service support as required;
• Be available for sales visits to corporate clients in the region in association with Sales Manager-PNG Air;
• Attend as PNG Air representative functions and events as required by General Manager and head of Commercial
• To assist with commercial activities in all regions as required;
• To ensure the corporate clients in the regions have a point of contact in regard to PNG Air queries and feedback
• To provide support for the sales team in the region in regard to customer recovery and business development.

• Requirements for the position:
• Be educated up to Tertiary level with a minimum of 5 years working experiences in a leadership role
• Be thoroughly conversant with all legislation and regulations pertaining to airport operations

• Extensive experience in the aviation industry in a Ground operations position.
• Have the ability to manage a large number of employees and contractors spread over a geographically wide area
• Be a good team player while able to act under one‘s own initiative when required, and possess well developed decision making and organisational skills with high customer service standards
