Position Vacant: Packaging Technician

Function: Supply Chain

Location: Port Moresby

We have an immediate requirement for Two Packaging Technicians – Port Moresby, to join our Packaging Team in Port Moresby, reporting to the Packaging Supervisor.

Main Duties will include:

  • To achieve job target with max efficiency, low wastage / losses, and highest quality.
  • Ensure that product are packed in correct containers (bottles / cans) and labelled appropriately.
  • Ensures replenishments of the needed materials of the machine and define material requirements for the shift.
  • Operate and clean the machine in the correct way according to standard operating procedure (SOP’s), including start up and run out procedures.
  • Constant and regular checks on equipment to make sure all functions are with in specification and rectify any deviations as soon as possible. Provides feedback and escalate to supervisor in case of deviations.
  • Perform small repairs independently (detagging) and assist the maintenance team in large breakdown repairs during shift.
  • Is able to independently change over the machine and complete CILT tasks
  • Technical support during overhauls and PM days
  • Performs reliable downtime registration and shift handing over notes (as input for the DCS), is able to write tags.
  • To fill in all operational forms in the correct manner.
  • Contributes to Breakdown Analysis and is able to independently make MTBA analysis.
  • Takes part in Kaizen and 5s teams, execution of standards.
  • Check raw material/packaging material quality and inform supervisor if this affects packing quality.
  • Quality analysis; Co2 analysis, foreign gas, seamer checks, caustic bottlewasher, EBI test bottles, red post, conveyor lubrication check, PQI. Timely feedback and escalation on product quality and non-standard conditions.
  • Complying with company policy.
  • Comply with all workplace safety regulations for own & others safety as well.
  • Drive, initiative, discipline, teamwork

Qualification & Experience

  • University Certificate or equivalent
  • Experience of operating and maintaining similar type of equipment.
  • Diploma in technical field preferable (Mechanical/Electrical/Chemistry)
