Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Operations Manager will provide support to the General Manager in managing all KutMor operational activities including the performance of KutMor’s Business lines.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all operational activities in the field, ensuring, and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Develop Contract rates for all contracts relating to activities within the company operations.
- Develop Annual Operational Plan for Board Approval.
- Act as point of contact for client requests for Manpower Services.
- Oversee the Camp Maintenance team and works.
- Recruitment of Project Management Team.
- Monitor performance of the Plant and Equipment Hire Business.
- Produce weekly operations reports to General Manager.
- Produce quarterly operations update for board reports covering the company’s business lines.
- Develop and maintain the operations team organisational structure reporting to the Operations Manager Position.
- Recruitment of all members of the Operations Team
- Provide support to the General Manager in Managing all KutMor Operational activities including the performance of KutMor’s Business lines.
- Manage, direct and mentor direct reports.
- Ensure that KutMor’s values and behaviours are understood, applied, and demonstrated by all members in the Operations Team.
- Develop and implement procedures and controls to promote effective communication and adequate flow of relevant information within the company and with external clients.
- Support the development of business relationships with strategic partners to achieve company strategic objectives.
- Effective use of management tools to ensure all members of the operations team are effective and deliver in their roles.
- Develop, implement, and maintain “fit for purpose” Management systems across all KutMor operational activities.
- Where appropriate, develop project management policies for senior management endorsement and board approval.
- Other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably civil, building, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in Project Management Roles.
- Sound and broad knowledge in financial management, business management and strategy development, risk management & business governance.
- Sound understanding of procurement and construction management.
- Sound understanding of all statutory requirements for business management, development, and compliance.
- Sound knowledge of PNG Cultural traditions and fluency in PNG Pidgin is beneficial.
- Strategic and project management skills
- Able to influence, lead and make sound decisions for the success of the organisation.
- Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict management skills
- Ability to adapt with high stress tolerance capacity.
- Relevant Project Management software computer application skills
- Computer literate with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project

- Capacity to adapt and work in a changing environment and perform efficiently under pressure and remain focussed on objectives.
- Ability to moderate petty disputes to prevent escalation.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role.
- Significant experience with managing a team of more than 10 positions.
