Operations Controller

We are now recruiting for an Operations Controller – Ground Operations. The Operations Controller will be based in Port Moresby and will report directly to the Senior Operations Controller. He/She will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the flight schedule by:

• coordinating resources,
• minimizing disruptions,
• optimizing service,
• reducing cost
• utilization through proactive monitoring of the schedule
• Communication with relevant stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring all procedures outlined in the Company‘s Exposition are adhered to at these airports;
• Proactively monitor aircraft movements and escalate issues to the Operations Control Supervisor;
• Liaise with ports for updates to aircraft movements to ensure OTP is maintained;
• Liaise with ports for updates to weather and security on the ground;
• Communicate with ports / stakeholders’ delays greater than 15mins by email and phone;
• Communicate to all stakeholders any cancellations and or operational advisories;
• Advise Ops Disrupt officer of misconnections or passenger disruptions to action with suggestions to rectify and recover the situation;
• Escalate IROP (Irregular Operation) situations to the Operations Control Supervisor/Operations Control Senior Supervisor;
• Communicate with aircraft regarding operational issues/changes i.e. Duty changes, Diversions, Weather reports, etc;
• Updating MELs on the board to reflect latest reports from Continuing Airworthiness and the MRO;
• Update electronic white board with appropriate aircraft serviceability reports, hours remaining and / any maintenance requirements;
• Complete the Daily Actual Movement work sheet;
• Printing and checking latest Air Maestro flight and duty time reports to ensure crew are within their limitations;
• Preparing and completing Flight Summary Sheet;
• Requirements for the position:
• Minimum Grade 12 Higher School Certificate but tertiary qualifications would be an advantage
• Knowledge of Skynet and OTP reporting
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong communication skills with flight delays, disrupts or cancellations to the relevant Ground Operations teams with recovery plans
