We currently have an immediate vacancy for an Operation Inventory Officer to join our already strong and vibrant Operations Team in Port Moresby. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful incumbent will assist the production and engineering teams in maintaining accurate stock records, ensuring adherence to Bill of Materials (BOM) specifications, overseeing production receipting compliance, providing training, and contributing to operation cost control measures. You will play a crucial role in optimizing inventory management processes and supporting efficient operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Analyze stock variances and discrepancies.
• Identify root causes of variances and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with relevant teams to resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain and review accurate BOM records and ensure they align with production requirements.
• Conduct regular audits of BOMs to verify accuracy and update as necessary.
• Coordinate with Production teams to implement any BOM revisions.
• Oversee the receipting process for production materials and finished goods.
• Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) requirements.
• Address any non-compliance issues and implement corrective measures.
• Develop and deliver training programs related to stock control procedures and best practices.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to staff members to enhance their understanding of stock management principles.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure training programs align with organizational objectives and individual development needs.
• Monitor stock levels and consumption patterns to optimize inventory levels.
• Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures without compromising quality or production efficiency.
• Work closely with finance departments to analyze expenditure and identify areas for improvement. Ensure system issues are reported promptly to avoid any delays in the delivery process.

To be considered for the role, you will need to have:

• Minimum a degree in Commerce/Finance
• Computer Literate with MS Word & MS Excel knowledge
• FMCG logistics experience would be an advantage
• 5+ year experience in supervisory level Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• SAP knowledge – Proficient
• Strong understanding of BOM process - Advanced
• Planning and stock control capability – Advanced
• Commercial capability – Advanced
• Supervisory capability – Proficient
