About the role

To manage supplier performance and provide the timely purchasing and procurement of goods delivered on time according to specified quantity, quality, and cost requirements and within the supply policy guidelines.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Manage the supplier base ensuring high level supplier performance, and cost management through regular contact with suppliers.
• Develop an understanding of the supply market and ensure well documented cost management.
• Investigate discrepancies and identify opportunities in the procure to pay process.
• Encourage site users to follow Supply processes and reinforce the correct process where required.
• Monitor the delivery of goods and materials ensuring conformation that deliveries are completed to the K92 Mining schedules and plans.

About You

To be considered for this position, candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in a warehousing environment where they understand and have used ERP systems (Pronto). Experience communicating with vendors in PNG and abroad. In addition to this, candidates should also (ideally) be able to demonstrate some or all the following.

• Understanding of purchasing strategies, supplier evaluation and selection tools and their interaction with other supply processes.
• Ability to draft and compile quote request.
• Negotiation skills and understanding of negotiation techniques.
• Commercial analysis and evaluation.
• The understanding of total cost and life cycle costing
