About the role

The incumbent will be responsible for assessing and managing water resources, addressing challenges related to water availability, quality, and sustainable use.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Water Properties and Behavior.
• Research the distribution and properties of underground and surface water
• They measure the quantity and quality of water throughout the water cycle, whether in rivers, lakes, stormwater, or reservoirs
• Develop strategies to maintain and improve water quality and availability2
• Analyze concerns related to hydroelectric power plants, local water projects, and dam safety.
• Hydrologists collaborate with other scientists and engineers to design water-related structures, such as hydroelectric power plants.

About You

• Degree or equivalent tertiary qualifications in Geology, Environmental Science, Earth Science, Geography, or closely related disciplines.
• 5+ years relevant work experience in similar roles in mining operations.
• Strong operational background with demonstrated ability to bring projects to completion on time and on budet.
• Previous experience operating in Papua New Guinea or developing countries in remote locations will be highly regarded
