POSITION TITLE: Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Coordinator

LOCATION: KTF Port Moresby Head Office

TYPE / DURATION:Full time, 12-month contract

REPORTING TO: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Advisor

ABOUT KTF:

KTF is an Australian international aid and development organisation working in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

We work with people and communities to improve the lives and futures of Papua New Guineans. We do this by: assisting remote and rural communities with access to elementary and primary education; improving access to quality and accessible healthcare; improved equality and safety for women and girls; and by fostering the next generation of leaders.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Coordinator role assists with our Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning strategy in order to ensure effective program delivery. This exciting role involves managing data collection and analysis, drafting reports, ensuring projects align with our MEL strategy and ongoing support of KTF’s MEL Advisor and program managers as we seek to impact lives and futures in remote and rural PNG.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role will be responsible for:

  • Assist in managing the organisation's Effectiveness Framework, including contributing to quarterly reporting processes and annual end-of-year Effectiveness Results;
  • Collaborate with the MEL Advisor to ensure timely and accurate reporting on all projects and in alignment with funding agreements;
  • Work closely with Program Managers and Coordinators to enhance project-level monitoring processes;
  • Connect monitoring activities with KTF's grants and communications initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational goals;
  • Supporting the development and management of Monitoring & Evaluation Plans for projects;
  • Contribute to fostering an evidence-based culture of learning;
  • Support the MEL Advisor in the coordinating evaluations including collating data and organising logistics for data collection and consultations, preparing responses to evaluations, and supporting the implementation of evaluation recommendations for program strengthening;
  • Support the process of impact reporting, including impact case studies and dissemination of lessons learned;
  • The role may be required to assist with some project support tasks;
  • The role requires close collaboration with KTF’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Advisor, Program Managers and coordinators, and Port Moresby team;
  • The role may require assisting the Programs team with safeguarding, GEDSI and other cross-cutting issues mainstreaming.

YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • exceptional writing skills and the ability to prepare M&E plans, reports and effectiveness results;
  • strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage complex detail and multiple projects, priorities and relationships;
  • demonstrated research and data analysis experience and understanding of M&E principles;
  • strong capability with the use of Microsoft office and excel (other M&E software experience desirable);
  • the ability to work in a fast paced, productive working environment;
  • the ability to coordinate several tasks at a time and prioritise effectively;
  • ability to work independently, as well as part of a team;
  • a degree in a relevant field (International Development, Statistics, or similar);
  • at least 3 years’ experience working for an NGO or similar role;
  • a can-do attitude with fantastic problem-solving skills;
  • ability to travel to remote and rural areas of Papua New Guinea.

The role is open to applicants based in Port Moresby who will work from our Port Moresby office. The position does not include housing or other benefits. We will prioritize Papua New Guineans for this position.
