About the role

This role is responsible for providing technical metallurgical support in the processing plant for efficient, safe, and continuous operation of process plant, including mill and the Laboratory to achieve production targets.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Monitor, audit and optimize plant metallurgical performance.
• Complete regular metallurgical accounting and reporting.
• Ensuring the processing plant is operated to meeting production targets.
• Interpreting data and compiling reports to assess plant performance.
• Assisting with metallurgical audits and conduct investigations to improve equipment and processes.
• Providing day-to-day technical metallurgical support and coaching to mill operations.
• Preparing daily shift metallurgical balances and required operational reports

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have a degree in metallurgy, mineral processing, or chemical engineering, with minimum of 6-years’ experience working in a mineral processing plant. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Surlphide Mineral Floatation, crushing and grinding experiences.
• Sound knowledge of Mill Control systems.
• A team player with very good computer skills.
• Have the ability and experience to diagnose fault with processing equipment within the plant operations.
• Ability to train process plant personnel in all aspects of their trade – particularly in diagnosis and fault finding, quality control, thoroughness and record keeping.
• Sound knowledge of Mining industry Safety, Environmental and Operational Practices.
