About the role
As the Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for organizing and coordinating the workflow within our workshop, ensuring that all activities are scheduled and executed in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. You will be working closely with our Workshop & Maintenance team to optimize resource utilization, minimize downtime, and meet production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed work schedules for all workshop jobs, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget and that the maintenance system (MEX) is updated regularly.
- Ensure that the necessary materials, tools, and personnel are available for each assigned task. This includes managing inventory levels for all maintenance parts.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, maintaining a safe work environment.
- Analyze the workflow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks, implementing changes where necessary after receiving approval from the Maintenance Manager.
- Monitor the progress of each job, ensuring that any issues are promptly addressed and provide regular updates.
- Coordinate with respective departments to identify scheduled maintenance windows and optimize the timing of work orders.
- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, recurring issues, or equipment failures that may require further investigation or a strategic change in maintenance planning.
- Regularly update key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance, such as equipment uptime, repair turnaround time, and resource utilization.
- Provide regular reports to management and stakeholders on workshop performance, equipment status, and Planned vs. Actual maintenance completion.
- Ensure the work environment complies with relevant occupational health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Participate in safety audits and inspections, and ensure that all team members follow the necessary safety protocols and procedures.
- Assist in troubleshooting any operational or technical challenges faced by the workshop team.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a planning or scheduling role within a workshop environment.
- Basic technical background with knowledge of workshop machinery, tools and processes.
- Strong understanding of workshop operations and resource management.
- Proficient in scheduling software and project management tools (eg: MS Project, QuickBooks, MEX, or similar)
- Current HV and LV Drivers Licenses
- Senior First Aid Certificate
- Current Police Clearance Certificate

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong leadership skills and experience
- Excellent planning and organizational capabilities with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work with, develop and lead multi-cultural teams
- Must work well both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills.
- Ability to investigate any discrepancies or quality concerns and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring problems.
