About the Role
Based in Moro on a 4:4 roster, this position is responsible for leading all Santos logistics operations in PNG, ensuring equipment and inventory is available to all PNGBU departments in line with operational requirements and Santos values.
Key accountabilities include:
- Lead PNG logistics team to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness objectives
- Address all day-to-day matters affecting PNG logistics operations to ensure all materials are maintained and delivered in a fit-for-purpose manner.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate timely issue resolution and support cross-functional activities to deliver Company freight within required timelines
- Manage comprehensive logistics operations across multi-modal activities including air, road, estuarine and sea transportation activities for the safe and timely carriage of the Company’s diverse freight profile.
- Manage reverse logistics functions for equipment and inventory including the distribution, internal allocation, delivery, recycling, reuse and final disposal of Company resources.
- Partner with PNGBU departments to define, plan, prioritise, deliver and support operational movements to ensure maximum value is derived from the Company’s logistics function.
- Facilitate continuous improvements to internal and external logistics systems and processes
- Supervise logistics workstreams with logistics specialists, planners and schedulers.
- Develop risk management programs to support the business during emergency scenarios in remote and challenging environments.
About You
The ideal candidate will have exceptional analytical, processing, planning and organisational skills, be an excellent communicator and have the ability to handle multiple complex tasks, as well as:
- Extensive multi-modal logistics experience in a remote and challenging operating environment
- Demonstrated ability to operate logistics functions in a remote and challenging environment requiring accurate and time-sensitive work outcomes
- Fundamental ERP competency
- Experience in international and domestic freight forwarding functions and processes
- Cargo handling including marine stowage, road transport procedures and practices
- Strong cultural awareness mindset specific to PNG
For this role, you must possess an accreditation in Logistics or Supply Chain operations and/or management along with CoR Level 3.
