The Role:

Our client, in the FMCG sector, is seeking a Learning & Development Manager to be based in Lae.

As a Learning & Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs that enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of the employees. You will work closely with department heads, assess training needs, and design strategies that align with business objectives. Your ability to engage and motivate teams, coupled with your expertise in instructional design, will play a critical role in building a high-performing workforce.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify training needs and design engaging training workshops using adult learning principles.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive training plan aligned with the business needs.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather relevant information and address capability gaps.
  • Create and manage training materials, ensuring their readiness for delivery.
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of training programs, recommending improvements as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all training activities and ensure compliance with the National Training Council.
  • Organise course certificates, graduation ceremonies, and deliver monthly training progress reports.
  • Demonstrate leadership by embodying company values and foster a culture of growth and collaboration.

Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a leadership role within learning and development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel, Word, and presentation design.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and continuous improvement abilities.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to translate complex information into simple terms.
