The Company
Our client, a global player in the oil and gas industry who is committed to providing reliable, affordable energy solutions in the country.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced HSS Coordinator to oversee and maintain the Health, Safety and Security (HSS) Management System for a dynamic project team. As a key member, you will drive compliance, implement training programs, and ensure operational safety and security across all activities. This role involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a high standard of HSS support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and update the HSS Management System, ensuring compliance through audits, training plans and accurate safety reporting.
  • Coordinate incident reporting, emergency response protocols and regular HSS audits to maintain operational safety standards.
  • Collaborated with HSS and HSES teams to develop site-specific safety plans, conduct risk assessments for new activities and review 3rd party contractor documentation to ensure compliance and operational safety. ‘
  • Coordinated with health and security providers to ensure access to medical services and maintain security at operating sites.
  • Monitored safety systems, including the permit -to-work system, use of dedicated vehicles and approvals for chemicals, PPE and equipment.
  • Oversaw allocation, usage and maintenance of the ZND vehicle fleet, ensuring regular servicing.
  • Coordinated with contracted drivers, contractors and third – party suppliers to meet operational needs, including sourcing additional vehicles when necessary.
  • Reported on kilometres and fuel consumption.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Qualifications in Operational Safety Management or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Security roles.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and planning skills.
  • Excellent report-writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in English and Tok Pisin; knowledge of Motu is a plus
