Monier Limited the single largest producer, supplier and distributor or construction materials and building products in PNG is seeking to recruit suitably qualified and highly motivated individual for the following position:

Heavy Equipment Fitter

Assist Workshop Supervisor in the day to day safe and efficient running of the workshop. Supervise, train staff and apprentices and ensure quality maintenance and repair work is performed on all heavy machinery at the Nebiri Quarry Heavy Equipment Workshop.

Duties Include:

• Assist Workshop Supervisor in fostering a team environment and assist in supervising the planning and execution of maintenance activities of the Heavy Equipment Workshop.
• Carry out testing and diagnosing faults, inspection, routine servicing and other PM tasks and repairs on heavy machinery.
• Attend emergency maintenance or breakdowns away from your normal place of work as and when required.
• Undertake all tasks in accordance with the company’s health and safety rules and company policies & procedures.
• Ensure that all work is completed to a satisfactorily high standard.
• Coordinating daily work activities and ensure that man-hours are effectively utilized to optimize maintenance and improve plant reliability and availability.
• Ensuring a culture of best practice and continuous improvement is encapsulated within the HE workshop.
• Work with maintenance planners and provide input into the weekly schedule and repair order backlog management.
• Scope the full extent of maintenance work needed to conduct the relevant repair and PM activities on all heavy machinery.
• Coordinate with purchasing regarding critical spares required for stock and maintenance & repairs.
• Write applicable maintenance procedures that promote defect-free maintenance work quality.
• Undertake workplace Safety inspections and recommend actions to be taken to eliminate and mitigate hazards and manage
• Actively contribute towards continuously improving the safety, quality and productivity of the team.

Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• NATTB Tradesman qualification as a heavy equipment fitter.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills are essential
• Extensive experience in a similar role working on CAT, Komatsu & Sandvik heavy equipment like drill rigs, excavators, haul trucks, wheel loaders, dozers, graders and forklifts..
• Minimum 15 years of work experience as a tradesman or supervisor.
• Must have current Driver’s License
