Cassowary Hotel under Steamships Limited is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Food & Beverage Attendant to join our dynamic team.

This vital role is suited for an energetic and detail-oriented professional who excels in providing exceptional customer service while ensuring a welcoming and efficient dining experience for all guests.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting daily food and beverage operations, maintaining high standards of service, and contributing to a positive and enjoyable guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and serve guests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure timely service delivery.
  • Set up, clear, and maintain dining and service areas according to company standards.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, including daily specials, to confidently make recommendations to guests.
  • Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Assist in stock control and inventory management, including restocking supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Process customer payments accurately and manage cash and electronic transactions as required.
  • Support team members to create a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

Minimum Grade 10 Certificate. Certificate in Hospitality or Food & Beverage Services is an advantage.

Experience:

6 months or more work experience in a similar role within a hospitality or customer service environment.

Soft Skills:

Excellent customer service and communication skills, ability to work efficiently and stay organized under pressure, attention to detail, friendly and professional attitude, ability to work well in a team and maintain high standards of personal presentation.
