Flying Operations Specialist

The Flight Operations Specialist is responsible for assisting and supporting the Safety team in conducting audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices. This role plays a critical part in enhancing flight safety and operational efficiency by monitoring training standards, operational procedures, and risk identification. Additionally, the specialist will support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.

  4. Flight Data Monitoring (FDR) and Analysis
  5. Regulatory and Industry Engagement

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the flight operations exposition suite and compliance statement(s)
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on FDR analysis to enhance flight safety and efficiency.
  • Work closely with flight operations and safety teams to address and mitigate identified issues.
  • Collaborate with Training and Checking personnel to ensure consistency in pilot competency and proficiency
  • Involved in the internal and external flight operations audits in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Ensure flight crew operations align with Civil Aviation Regulations and company standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in investigating flight safety incidents, identifying contributing factors, and recommending corrective actions
  • Potential travel requirements for audits, investigations, and regulatory engagements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment, sometimes outside regular business hours
  • Other related tasks allocated by GMFO.

Requirements

  • Team player
  • Extensive experience in an airline flight operations, with a background in Training and Checking.
  • Previous experience in a Safety-related position within an airline environment.
  • Proficiency in operating turboprop aircraft (DHC-8, ATR) or higher.
  • Demonstrated expertise in aviation audits and safety investigations.
  • Experience and Strong analytical skills in Flight Data Recorder (FDR) monitoring and analysis.
  • Experience participating in regulatory authority audits and ensuring compliance with audit findings.
  • Excellent report writing skills, with the ability to provide progressive reports on pilot performance weekly.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with pilots, and flight operations teams.
