About the Role
Based in Port Moresby, the Financial Advisor plays a key role in delivering financial insights and support across the business. This role emphasises a service-oriented approach to financial business partnering by providing high-quality analysis, reporting, and proactive engagement to aid decision-making and drive business success.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver qualitative financial analysis and reporting to support business performance and decision-making.
- Lead and coordinate budgeting and forecasting activities to ensure accuracy and alignment with organisational goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support business initiatives, projects, and operational strategies.
- Respond to ad hoc financial requests and queries promptly and effectively, ensuring stakeholders have the insights needed.
- Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including:
- Executive VP Stakeholder Engagement.
- Developments.
- Drilling & Completions.
- Construction and Fixed Assets (C&FA).
- Maintenance.
- Production & Technical Engineering.
- Regional Manager.
- Provide additional support to the Finance Management team as required.
About You
Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business from a recognised university.
Desired:
- Post tertiary qualified accountant or working towards (Certified Professional Accountant or equivalent).
The ideal candidate will have extensive relative work experience, strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly. Your high attention to detail and commitment to continuous development and improvement is essential. Familiarity with the Oil & Gas or Mining industries is advantageous, as well as your adaptability in technical fields.
You will be proficient in MS Excel and the wider MS suite and have experience with ERP and BI systems. We are looking for a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver high-quality results within a deadline-driven environment.
