The New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced individual as Engineer - Reliability

About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent – Reliability & Engineering, the successful applicant will ensure that maintenance activities are planned, scheduled, and executed efficiently to maximize the reliability and availability of fixed plant assets. Here's a more detailed breakdown of the responsibilities and skills associated with this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently carry out condition monitoring inspections
  • Conduct NDT inspections of Fixed plant equipment
  • Utilize engineering skills and knowledge to identify and investigate opportunities on site to identify and provide solution for defect elimination
  • Conduct RCA on loss production and equipment failure
  • Develop project scopes of work and manage these projects through to successful completion in a timely manner
  • Manage and communicate with Contractors both on and off site, as well as liaising with other stakeholders
  • Contribute to other engineering duties that may arise as part of the day-to-day operations
  • Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all the relevant NPL policies & procedures

About You

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics or related field.
  • Proven experience in fixed plant maintenance and reliability engineering.
  • Strong understanding of reliability- centered maintenance principles.
  • Proven experience in conducting NDT inspections
  • Proven experience in plant condition monitoring
  • Analysis of equipment failure data
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques and tools.
  • Ability to develop and implement new procedures and process
  • Able to conduct failure mode effect analysis (FMEA)
  • Capable of performing predictive analysis
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel and Outlook) and Oracle

Desirable:

  • Experience in vibration analysis.
  • NDT Level 1/2 qualification
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards

Mobilization Requirement

This is a PNG National Staff position, a site-based role on a Fly in Fly out arrangement with rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off. Must successfully pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening. (This will be arranged only for successful candidates who progress after the interview stage) and have an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months).
