Islands Petroleum is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor, and the exclusive distributor for Mobil Lubricants in Papua New Guinea. Islands Petroleum operates bulk fuel and lubricant Depots and Distribution Centres in the Islands, Momase, Southern, and the Highlands regions. Our national head office is based in Kokopo.

We are currently seeking a Driver to be part of our Engineering team based at our 6 mile Depot in Port Moresby.

The Role & It’s Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of staffs and cargoes, ensuring discretion and a high level of service.

Other responsibilities include:

• Transporting engineering staff and cargo from one place to another.
• Ensuring that the vehicle is in good condition and ready to use.
• Following traffic laws and regulations, planning routes.
• Keeping the vehicle fuelled and well-maintained,
• Keeping track of trip details, expenses and fuel usage
• Provided timely travel arrangements.
• Upheld company Protocol.
• Standby for service calls
• Assist engineering admin to do administrations tasks.
• Collect payments and issue receipts.
• Assist clients with loading and unloading their luggage.
• Schedule regular car service appointments and report any issues.

Role Requirements

• Grade 12 Education at least
• Minimum of 3 years driving experience as a Driver or experience in driving similar role.
• Show proper driving and navigation skills (Defensive Driving)
• Sound knowledge of road safety regulations and knowledge of local roads and routes
• Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills
• Excellent customer service, communications, and inter-personal skills
• Neat and tidy appearance
