About the role

The role is accountable for the protection of K92 Mining personnel and assets by utilizing the support and tactical deployment of canine resources.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Deploy canine resources to patrol area of K92 Mining operations to support security plans and objectives.
• Maintain a level of competency in canine handling and care.
• Work closely with the Kennel Master to assess performance and identify improvement projects to maximise results, reduce risk and implement cost management initiatives.
• Demonstrates personal responsibility for own health and safety whilst setting clear expectations of relevant legal obligations, safe workplace practices and HSE operating practices to others, holding them accountable for their actions.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have safe canine handling and care qualification with a minimum of five (5) years as a canine handler. In addition to this, you will have all the following.

• Site security experience in the extractive industries (Mining, Oil & Gas)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in security roles.
• Possess strong influencing and negotiation skills and the ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships with management, team members, peers, police, and other external agencies.
• Prepare clear, concise, and accurate investigative and narrative reports.
