Islands Petroleum is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor, and the exclusive distributor for Mobil lubricants in Papua New Guinea. With the head office based in Kokopo, Islands Petroleum also operates bulk fuel depots in Rabaul, Kimbe, Konebada, Kavieng, Alotau, Popondetta/ Oro Bay and Mt. Hagen as well as lubes and fuel distribution warehouses in Lae, Port Moresby, and Madang.
We are currently seeking to fill the position of Depot Supervisor at our Rabaul Depot, East New Britain Province. Reporting to the Depot Manager and working alongside a Senior Depot Operations Supervisor, this position is critical to the ongoing efficient operation of the Depot.
The Role and Responsibilities
- Work hand-in-hand with other Depot Supervisor in Planning & Coordinating Marine Tanker, Bunker Operations, tanker trucks and package deliveries.
- Assisting the Assistant Depot Manager/Depot Manager in day-to-day operations through planning & delegation of scheduled activities that will be carried out by the depot staff & operations trainee.
- Maintaining the highest standards of Health, Safety, Security & Environmental protection by complying with company and corresponding statutory policies and procedures.
- Ensuring that packaged product received via shipping/road is accounted for- by comparing Container Discharge Sheets with Commercial Invoices. Must be competent in doing investigation for discrepancies and to raise appropriate communication/documentation such as incident report, when needed.
- Managing daily stock movements by verifying transactions from the TTFS Control Sheet, Drum Control Sheet and Lubes register to the daily meter registers.
- Ensure all depots plant and equipment are inspected, and Genco (General Conditions Report) is updated and submitted to the Manager on a timely manner
- Facilitating tanker vessel discharge activities as a Tanker Discharge Officer
- Ensuring all stocks and bulk stock are accounted for, dipped and verified with the Pronto records at the end of each day through proper coordination and supervision of staff resources in conducting an accurate inventory, inputting counted data as per required deadline, and reconciling such with Pronto Warehouse on Hand reports.
- Provide updates to Depot Manage on inventory levels.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering course and business or related field
- Minimum 3 year’s working experience in the petroleum, oil and gas industry or related.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritise work and manage multiple tasks,
- Good understanding of operations, inventory and stock principles with strong working knowledge of Excel
- Good reporting skills and business correspondence
- Excellent communication skills-both verbal and written
- Must possess necessary management, leadership, and competency skills.
- East New Britain based candidates will be given first preference.
