The Role Reporting to the Head of Corporate Advisory, this role involves making credit recommendations and seeking approvals for lending transactions with new and existing clients.
As a Corporate Banking Advisor, you will work closely with an experienced team of advisors, guiding clients through their wealth journey and helping them achieve their financial goals. Your focus will be on providing technical analysis for financing requests and managing credit risk.
Key Responsibilities - Assist in originating and managing a pipeline of corporate finance transactions and screening lending opportunities through marketing, analytics, and deal screening.
- Lead and manage financial modelling, due diligence, risk analysis, and mitigation in structuring loans and equity investments.
- Assign internal credit ratings, establish and manage credit risk limits in accordance with the risk appetite established by the Board, and monitor and report on credit risk exposures regularly.
- Support or lead the internal approvals process, liaising with credit, legal, and other teams, as well as management and the Board.
- Work with internal and external counsel to ensure appropriate legal documentation is completed and financial close (first disbursement) is achieved on time.
- Ensure compliance with guidelines, policies, procedures, and reporting requirements for financing effectiveness.
Key Requirements - PNG National
- A degree or postgraduate qualification in accounting or finance from a recognised institution.
- At least 5 years' experience in corporate business lending roles, with a proven track record in Structured Debt, Project Finance, M&A, Capital Markets, Financial Markets, and Structured Trade transactions.
- Strong technical knowledge of loan structures, transaction executions, and financial modelling.
- Excellent experience in analysing counterparties, identifying and quantifying risk drivers, and making recommendations for managing exposure.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present at client meetings, credit committees, and to senior management.
- A proactive, self-driven individual with strong time management skills and the ability to balance multiple high-priority tasks in a fast-paced environment.
