Baosen International Holdings Ltd is looking within and abroad for a competent and well experience Chief Accountant with a history of 5 – 10 or more years of work experience with recognized institutions both within and outside of Papua New Guinea. It will be a greater opportunity to be part of a dynamic investor in developing a Mega Mall China Town Commercial Development in Port Moresby, the capital city of Papua New Guinea.

The successful candidate will oversee and manages all aspects of a company's accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and the effective management of financial resources.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial statement preparation, reconciliation, and analysis.
• Review and approve journal entries, adjustments, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and analyse financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior management to support business decisions and initiatives.
• Mentor, coach, and develop accounting staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
• Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in financial management processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Proven experience as a Chief Accountant or similar role, with a minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting and financial management.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
