PORT MORESBY - BRANCH OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

P.N.G AIR FREIGHT LIMITED (FedEx)

P.N.G Air Freight Limited (FedEx) maintains a large share of the air freight business in PNG with headquarters in Port Moresby and 8 Branches and 10 Agencies throughout Papua New Guinea. International freight is handled via the FedEx Express global network with registered customers having access to online services for shipment tracking and scheduling pickups at their fingertips.

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Branch Manager and responsible for coordinating the delivery of incoming & outgoing consignments with various teams, ensuring compliance and safety with Dangerous Goods Handling in accordance IATA Regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Coordination:
    1. Coordinate and support Domestic Inbound, Domestic Outbound, Bond Team, and POM Pick Up & Delivery (PUD) & Dispatch Teams.
    2. Liaise with Supervisors on DMS Operational Matters.
  2. Compliance and Safety:
    1. Ensure adherence to FedEx Process & Policy.
    2. Oversee Dangerous Goods Handling & Processing in accordance with IATA Regulations.
    3. Maintain workplace safety.
  3. Communication and Support:
    1. Foster positive interactions and effective communication among Operations and Administrative staff.
    2. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Branch Manager.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  1. Certificate in Administration/Business would be advantageous, but not essential.
  2. At minimum, excellent High School (Year 12) results in Math/English
  3. 5 years of Freight/Logistics experience.
  4. Valid Class 6 Driver's License.
  5. Sound knowledge of Air Cargo Handling & Processes.
  6. Team player with the ability to foster teamwork.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  8. Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  9. Customer service knowledge.
  10. Good phone etiquette.

Other Information

  • Working hours - Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm and 8am to 12pm on one fortnightly Saturday will apply, however subject to business requirements, hours may vary after 5pm, weekends and Public Holidays. Overtime is provided for, within Company Policy and Guidelines.
  • Location – 7 Mile, Port Moresby
  • Training - In recognition of your contribution, we in turn will provide on-the-job training as well as in-house soft skill training to advance your essential workplace development as required.
  • Restrictions - This occupation is open to PNG citizens only.
  • Remuneration - Commensurate to qualifications, relevant licences and experience.
  • Probation - A three (3) month probationary period will be undertaken to ascertain the suitability of the candidate before a full-time position is appointed.
