  • Employment Type: Full-time/Part-time

Position Overview:

The Assistant Lecturer in Business Management plays a pivotal role in delivering quality education and fostering the academic development of students in business-related disciplines. This position involves assisting with teaching, curriculum development, research, and mentoring, contributing to the overall success of the Business Management Course run at IBS College of TVET.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching and Learning:
    • Assist in preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, and workshops in Business Management and related subjects.
    • Facilitate interactive learning experiences to engage students and enhance their understanding of core business concepts.
    • Develop teaching materials, lesson plans, and assessment tools in collaboration with senior lecturers.
  2. Curriculum Development:
    • Support the development and periodic review of the Business Management curriculum to ensure it meets industry and academic standards.
    • Integrate contemporary business practices, case studies, and trends into teaching content.
  3. Student Support:
    • Provide academic guidance and mentoring to students to help them achieve their learning objectives.
    • Assess and evaluate students’ performance through assignments, projects, and examinations.
  4. Research and Professional Development:
    • Participate in research activities and encourage student involvement in research projects.
    • Stay updated with current business trends, practices, and theories to inform teaching methods.
  5. Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessment outcomes.
    • Contribute to departmental meetings, committees, and administrative tasks as required.
  6. Community Engagement:
    • Support outreach programs, workshops, and seminars that promote business education.
    • Engage with local businesses and organizations to create partnerships and learning opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education:
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Commerce, or a related field is essential.
    • A Master’s degree (or working towards one) in Business Administration or a similar discipline is highly desirable.
  • Experience:
    • At least 1–3 years of teaching or professional experience in business or management roles.
    • Prior experience in teaching at the tertiary or vocational education level is an advantage.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of core business functions such as marketing, finance, management, HR management, and entrepreneurship.
    • Proficiency in using educational technology tools and learning management systems like Moodle and ERP
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Effective time management and organizational abilities.
    • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for teaching and student success.
