The Company

Our client is a non-profit, peak industry association that represents the interests of its members and associated industries in PNG, whom collectively are major contributors to Papua New Guinea.

The Opportunity
Our client seeks an Analyst – Policy and Research to engage with dynamic individuals. This individual will play a critical role in assisting with the development and implementation of strategic work programs that align with the organization's goals. The role includes policy advocacy, research, data management, and stakeholder engagement. The Analyst will be instrumental in shaping policies that promote industry growth and sustainability while ensuring the organization’s objectives align with national goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement approved work programs aligned with strategic goals to support industry growth
  • Collaborate with the Senior Analyst to collect and analyse data for policy development.
  • Develop new standards and practices aligned with national objectives
  • Engage with stakeholders to facilitate communication and advocate for policy initiatives
  • Represent the organisation in meetings and forums to gather input for policy initiatives
  • Manage data collection, storage and reporting processes, adhering to compliance standards and best practices in data management.
  • Analyse trends to support strategic planning and long-term advocacy efforts
  • Contribute actively to the organisation culture change, focused on sustainable national development
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Economics, Engineering, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience, with at least 2 years in data collation, research assistance, and report writing.
  • Experience in business reporting, ideally within the resource or energy sectors
  • Strong communication interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports to inform policy and decision- making
  • Strong time management & organisation skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Adaptable to working in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • The ability to organise various data sources and efficiently draw and analyse information, will be highly regarded.
