About Rumion Farm:
Situated in the heart of the Markham Valley, Rumion Farm is Papua New Guinea’s largest piggery, renowned for its commitment to producing premium pork products. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a diligent and experienced Farm Accounting Manager to strengthen our financial operations team.
Job Summary:
As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial health of Rumion Farm. You will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance, ensuring that our financial practices support our growth and sustainability goals. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic agricultural environment, contributing to the farm’s operational efficiency and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate financial statements and reports in a timely manner.
- Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and manage budgets to ensure financial stability.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial practices comply with legal regulations and company policies.
- Audit Coordination: Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes to maintain cash flow.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Tax Planning and Filing: Oversee tax planning and filing activities to ensure compliance and optimize tax liabilities.
- System Improvements: Implement and maintain accounting systems and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial information and insights to senior management and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting or related Finance discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar Finance and Administration role.
- Mandatory to be a current financial member of Certified Practicing Accountants and will be required to register with the Certified Practicing Accountants PNG before commencement.
- Understanding of PNG Labour & Employment Laws would be an advantage.
- Working knowledge in using computerized Accounting systems, preferably Sage 300 (formerly known as ACCPAC) for Windows
- Excellent business acumen, communication and interpersonal relationships
- Proficient in MS Office 365, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Good command of English language.
- Results orientated and business driven.
- Be resilient and adaptable to meet unexpected business demands and changing situations.
- Approach problem solving & solutions in an open, understanding and pragmatic manner.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service and be team focused.
Other Requirements:
- Class 1 Driver’s license and can drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicle.
- Good overall health
- Ability to travel by air to other centres as needed.
