Simberi Mine Services (SMS) - Employer Profile

Simberi Mine Services Ltd (SMS) is a Landowner Company (LANCO) for the people of Simberi and the Tabar Group of Islands. It is an Umbrella Company(UC) for the landowners of Simberi Gold Mine operated by St Barbara. SMS through the UC structure is where all landowner businesses participating in the spin off business as a result of the mining activities on the Simberi Island will eventually come under this one coordinating structure. In effect, this assumes a "co-op" type arrangement where all business activities involving community companies are managed through the central UC.
