K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

In this role you will ensure that all geological functions on the mine are conducted correctly and in a timely manner, observing and adhering to the workplace Health & Safety policies. As a member of the Mine Technical Services team providing geological support across the organization as well as mentoring junior geologists within the MTS team.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

  • Organise drill program logistics to maximise productivity and core recovery, and attain targets.
  • Ensure sampling, data capture, and mapping are completed fully and correctly.
  • Ensure weekly production forecasts and daily materials tracking are complete and correct.
  • Manage stockpiles and ROM blends to maximise metal recovery and production.
  • Weekly reporting of mine production and diamond drilling.
  • Maintain safe work standards and practices in accordance with government and company policy.
  • Perform all tasks and roles to support and reflect the company’s mission and core values.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have the following

  • Tertiary degree in a geological discipline.
  • Three years relevant industry experience.
  • Prior experience with managing diamond drilling programs.
  • Proficient knowledge of practical sampling.
  • Able to coordinate and supervise geology team to deliver high quality output.
  • Willing and able to live and function in a remote and foreign community with limited facilities.
  • Good written and verbal communication at all levels in the organisation.
  • Knowledge of narrow vein copper-gold deposits.
  • Experience with SQL databases.
  • Capable with mining software (Surpac, Deswik, Excel).
  • Supervisory training and experience.
