We are currently seeking to recruit an Instrument Technician for our Fixed Plant Maintenance – Electrical & Instrumentation Department. Reporting to the Instrumentation Shift Supervisor, the primary objective of this role will be to safely perform preventative maintenance and repairs of instrumentation control and distribution equipment.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
- Perform Preventative, secondary and immediate maintenance on all process plant equipment.
- Perform regular calibrations on process instruments to ensure plant reliability.
- Provide defects found during preventative maintenance to the instrumentation supervisor.
- Report all accidents and incidents to immediate supervisors
- Stand in as supervisor to run shift efficiently as required.
- Liaise with supervisor regarding work plans to allow adequate preparation time for task allocation
- Ensure parts, consumables and expertise available as scheduled to enable team leaders to allocate and supervise work flow
- Identify bottlenecks and use problem solving tools, techniques and business improvement teams to identify system improvement
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:
- Instrumentation Trade Qualification from PNG National Trade Testing Apprenticeship Board (PNG NATTB)
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a mining industry
- Some experience in process control and distribution equipment.
- Basic working knowledge of computerised maintenance systems
- Broad experience in all facets of electrical control and distribution equipment maintenance and repair
- Strong knowledge of process plant instruments including flow, pressure, temperature, level, density.
- Sound communication and technical skills
- Sound Planning and organisational skills
- Prepared to work to flexible company roster and varying work hours as required
- Be able to work in team & multi-cultural environment
- Have class 3 or 6 PNG driver’s licence
- Strong Safety focused
This role is Hidden Valley Mine Site Based
