We currently have a vacancy for Forklift Operator to join our already strong and effective Warehouse Team in Lae. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the successful incumbent is to move, stack, load weights less than two tons in and out from the container or on and off the trucks to meet the supply chain requirement and build a strong relationship to drive long term profitable growth in GFI.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Pre-Start Check for the forklift
• View Loading Plan for the day or shift
• Check Loading Materials to ensure that they are all available
• Placing the Ramp at the entrance of the container to enable the forklift to move in and out of the container
• Moving the stock from the warehouse to the loading bay
• Moving the stock from the loading day in and out from the container
• Load the stock onto the truck
• Remove the Ramp after loading
• Remove Pallets after the rice is loaded onto the truck or into the container
• Stacking the palleted rice, packaging, raw material and even the empty pallets
• Assist Stock Taking by moving the materials into the vicinity of the stock controller or making it easy to count
• Assist the warehouse team to re-pelleting the pallets
• Ensure the correct SKUs are loaded according to pick slip
• Transfer of reworks from the storage to the rework station

Health and Safety:

• Comply with all health and safety regulations on site.
• Follow instructions given for your own health and safety and those of others by following safe work procedures.
• Prevent any environmental incidents from occurring and actively report any safety concerns, near miss or incidents to the Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator and your immediate Manager when the incident occurs.
• Actively comply with Safety WALK’s and TALK’s according to the schedule.
• Wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety equipment required in designated areas (100% compliance).
• Comply with all safety, quality and Goodman Fielder policies and practices.

Experience / Qualifications Required

• Minimum grade 10 with Credits & Pass or grade 12 certificate with a ‘C’’ grades or better
• 3+ years of working experience in a small Fork Driver operator role or similar
• Must hold a class 7 drivers’ license
• Demonstrated experience in line with technical and leadership competencies
• Experience in working with diverse cultures and developing relationships quickly (essential)
• Must understand the end-to-end process of the supply chain and divers within FMCG
