The Backhoe Operator is responsible for operating heavy construction equipment, specifically backhoes, to perform various tasks at construction sites. The Backhoe Operator also conducts regular equipment maintenance and inspections to ensure proper functioning.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specialized in operating JCB/New Holland backhoes or JCB, Komatsu, Sakai Roller, or Hitachi excavators.
Execute excavation, digging, and material movement tasks using backhoe machinery.
Strictly adhere to project specifications and safety guidelines during operations.
Maintain and inspect the backhoe equipment regularly to ensure proper functionality.
Collaborate effectively with construction teams and supervisors to meet project goals.
Job Requirements
Minimum of five (5) years of work experience as a Backhoe Operator.
Hold a minimum grade ten (10) certificate.
Possess a valid Class 6 or 7 driver's license.
Hold a related trade certificate.
Demonstrate honesty, reliability, punctuality, and commitment to excellent attendance.
Capable of working efficiently with minimal supervision.
Flexibility to work on a shift schedule as required, including weekends.
Hold a valid PNG Class 7 License.
Non-betel nut chewer and non-smoker with sober habits.
