Admin Officer

Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional looking for an exciting career in administration? The Papua New Guinea University of Technology is seeking a dedicated Admin Officer to support the Online Education Unit within the Department of Open and Distance Learning (DODL).

Primary responsibilities

  • Manage the Online Education office, ensuring student records, staff files, and office logistics are well-maintained.
  • Provide administrative support including inventory management, scheduling, budgeting, invoicing, and office reporting.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with students, online facilitators, and internal departments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student withdrawals, deferrals, and refunds in collaboration with the Systems and Student Admin Officers.
  • Ensure sufficient office supplies and liaise with the finance team to manage budgets.
  • Support students by establishing an effective feedback system.
  • Assist in content verification for the Online Education website and social media platforms.
  • Coordinate staff travel and participate in academic activities such as registration, examinations, and evaluations.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the Head of Department or the University Management.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Business Administration, Education, Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Prior clerical/administrative work experience.

Required Skills & Attributes

  • Highly organized and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
  • Ability to operate office equipment and provide excellent customer service.
  • A mature and deadline-driven professional who can work under pressure.

Conditions of Service

Admin Officer I/II PGK31,288 - PGK43,695 per annum

(Level of appointment depends upon qualification and experience)
